The Chief Information Officer is responsible for all administrative and academic computing services and acts as a facilitator in meeting
information requirements. As a member of Senior Staff, the Chief Information Officer shares the responsibility in policy development,
planning, budget management, and operations. The Chief Information Officer is assisted by staff members to support the information and
technology requirements of the college and respond to the daily needs of managing systems, the network, and application requirements. Duties
to include but not limited to: provide vision, direction, and guidance with the use and application of technology in support of educational
and administrative goals. Set hardware, software, and network standards for all generic and function specific applications, to ensure
compatibility and resource availability to support users and technological commitments. Develop and implement systems and applications that
address needs based on departmental or office function to harmonize with the institutional technology plan. Maintain all software
applications on the network, providing consistent and responsive operation. Develop budget within framework of the implementation strategy,
resources available, and priorities of the institution. Negotiate all technology acquisitions and contractual agreements with vendors for
hardware, software, consulting, and financing concerns. Monitor/research industry developments and trends that would strengthen the
implementation of technology within the scope of the technology plan. Provide security and mechanisms to prevent intrusion and damage to
server, desktop systems, and information resources.

Requirements/Qualifications: Strong understanding of
operating systems and network architectures. Comprehensive knowledge of voice and data technology and its application in higher education.
Database administration with application in higher education. Knowledge of network security and latest means to secure against intrusion,
viruses, and malicious software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to lead and manage multiple projects. Strong
communication and interpersonal skills. Successful experience of applied administrative applications and reporting systems. Master’s
Degree in information technology, computer science, business administration or related field preferred. 5+ years’ experience at a
director level position, preferably in higher education.
