Job Summary:
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Langston University is responsible for overseeing all IT resources, operations, projects, and plans for the University. This position is the senior-most leadership position within IT on campus. This individual will work in cooperation with the A&M System under the direction and oversight of the A&M CIO to ensure proper support is provided to the University. This position will be required to represent the University in joint meetings, councils, groups, or projects where the University has a vested interest in the discussion.
Required:
- Degree: Bachelor’s
- Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Telecommunications Management, Business Administration, or related area.
- Seven years of information technology administration or information technology management experience.
- Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses
- Skills, Proficiencies, and Knowledge: In addition to the knowledge required to perform the major responsibilities, a successful individual will possess the ability to develop and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical audiences; must exhibit the ability to handle difficult situations; must operate with professional standards of confidentiality, honesty, and commitment.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. Periodically this position requires work after normal working hours and requires continual availability by the cellular device. A cellular device will be provided, or additional income provided to compensate for use of a personal device.
- This position may be required to be in an on-call/standby status for after-hours and weekend emergencies.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree
- Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Telecommunications Management, Business Administration, or related area.
- Information technology experience in higher education.
- Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses: ITIL Foundations
