Brief Summary of Work
for this Position
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) advances innovative technical solutions/strategies and plays a key role
in collaborating with the Associate Vice Chancellor/CIO, the ITS Management team, and other members of the university community to foster
the right level of technical innovation to support the mission of the UNCW campus. This position requires a talented leader with a depth and
breadth of knowledge to lead innovation throughout our high-performing university. This position requires technical skills that demonstrate
experiences with tactical, strategic, and visionary successes with the ability to become a senior contributor in reaching our vision of
supporting the university’s success in teaching, research, and service.

Infrastructure & Operations
Services is responsible for the planning, installation, management and support of UNCW’s central computing and storage infrastructure in
addition to its voice and data networks. This includes the infrastructure supporting advanced research computing, distance education and
other academic initiatives. Network Communications including telecommunications, networking infrastructure both wired and wireless,
firewalls, and VoIP.
