Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary
Responsible for the management and leadership of the Data Security and Awareness team within the UITS Office of Cybersecurity. Leads the team responsible for collaborating with the Office of Research to ensure the integrity of institutional research data, managing institutional data loss prevention processes, conducting regular security awareness trainings and self-phishing campaigns, collaborating with Procurement on third-party vendor relationship management, and overseeing university IT compliance efforts.

Responsibilities
1. Responsible for coordinating with the Office of Research staff on grant proposals and data integrity needs and security requirements and works within UITS on architecting solutions which will meet the requirements

2. Serves as a resource for faculty members conducting research with prescribed security requirements and in assuring the integrity of institutional research

3. Responsible for implementing and managing the enterprise data loss prevention program

4. Responsible for managing the institutional cybersecurity awareness, training, and self-phishing program

5. Responsible for building and maintaining metrics of organizational security posture

6. Responsible for managing personnel and providing leadership, technical direction, and operational oversight of the unit

7. Manages conflicting projects, tasks and/or priorities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of cybersecurity responsibilities

8. Ensures that all acquisitions, procurements, and outsourcing efforts address information security requirements consistent with USG requirements and best practices

9. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the enterprise’s operational and procedural safeguards to ensure that they provide the intended level of protection

10. Tracks audit findings and recommendations to ensure that appropriate mitigation actions are taken

11. Gathers feedback on customer satisfaction and internal service performance to foster continual improvement

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Other Required Qualifications
CISSP, CISA, CISM, CDPSE or equivalent certification

Required Experience
Seven (7) years of related work experience in Information Security demonstrating a progression of increasing responsibility, with at least two (2) years of leading an Information Technology team

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security & Assurance, Computer Science, or Information Technology preferred

Preferred Experience
Preferably at least two (2) years of Information Security experience within higher education

Proposed Salary
Pay Grade: Exempt 19

Able to identify critical infrastructure systems, or processes, that were designed without system security considerations
Able to lead collaborative efforts with administrators and faculty on the development of research grant proposal security requirements responses.
Able to handle with multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of industry and research data security standards such as Personal Health Information (PHI), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Payment Card Industry (PCI), etc.
Expertise in specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses and emerging threats

SKILLS
Strong interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong leadership skills
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
