DIRECTOR, Information Technology Services Operations
California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator III position.

The Position: Under the general direction of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Information Technology Services (ITS) Operations Director assists the ITS management team with the day-to-day operations of services. The incumbent is responsible for managing and deploying projects that requires integration with Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications, Security and Compliance as well as Client Services departments, along with implementing project requests needing ITS assistance from other departments via ServiceNow. This role assists the ITS management team to foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, drive innovation, and improve the business value of information technology. The incumbent assists the CIO in governance oversight, project and portfolio management, and information technology strategic planning to achieve the goals of the University and ITS. The ITS Operations Director serves as backup for the CIO and other ITS directors as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience: A bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, business administration, mathematics, or a related technical field. Minimum of seven years of progressive responsibility in leading multiple, cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders. General experience in evaluating and implementing the latest developments in advanced technologies and information systems, and merging new technologies into existing ones. Demonstrated experience in the strategic planning and administration of information technology systems, and establishing standard processes and managing performance to achieve key metrics. Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and strategic application to business needs. Strong budget planning, financial management and resource management skills. Demonstrated success exercising leadership and management skills. Exceptional project management, oral communication, writing and grammatical skills. Must possess the ability to: act decisively under stressful situations; comprehend the institution’s needs and requirements through preparation of needs analysis and feasibility studies that reflect desired outcomes; coordinate multiple projects and tasks without the loss of integrity to work, as well as organizing, monitoring and guiding others to ensure desired outcomes are achieved; build consensus among varying groups within an organization; effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of diverse scopes in a cross-functional environment; explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others; produce documents for end-users with varying levels of technical understanding and experience; and have a demonstrated interest and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University. Desired Qualifications: Graduate degree is preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Appointment: The Administrator III appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
