Job Summary

The Director of Information Technology maintains information technology strategies by managing staff,
formulating policy, budget development and control. This position has oversight of all aspects of the college’s technology
infrastructure and ensures compliant, effective, efficient, and secure systems operations.

Essential Functions

  1. Oversee
    all aspects of the IT Department
  2. Provide strategy, vision, leadership, and advocacy for information technology initiatives
  3. Consolidate multiple platforms, infrastructures, and technologies
  4. Oversee academic computing, including faculty teaching
    activities
  5. Oversee institutional computing, including learning management systems (currently Canvas and Jenzabar), Blackbaud and
    Financial Aid software, multimedia services, Web technology, point of sale systems, cafeteria management system, and technology
    infrastructure, including wired and wireless networking, telecommunications, and fiber optic networks
  6. Oversee systems monitoring
    for performance issues
  7. Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and
    control structures
  8. Encourage IT collaboration throughout the college
  9. Participate in the formulation of the annual budget
    and control the ongoing budget
  10. Oversee acquisition and operation of technology resources (servers, networks, software, data
    services, etc.)
  11. Administer implementation of projects and the enforcement of college and departmental IT-related policies
  12. Remain abreast of IT-related industry best practices and trends
  13. Provide oversight on the college’s web presence and
    development
  14. Administer the college telephone system
  15. Manage multiple vendor relationships
  16. Effective management,
    supervision, and evaluation of all IT staff
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and
Experience

  1. A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a computer related discipline.
  2. At least five years of
    increasingly responsible IT management and leadership, including personnel management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities

  1. Working knowledge of how information technology can support higher education.
  2. Evidence of project
    management experience.
  3. Possess strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
  4. Possess strong
    analytical, strategic thinking, and problem solving skills.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of current and future trends in computing
    technologies.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of current operating systems and computer architecture.
  7. Demonstrated knowledge of
    industry regulations and their impact on the privacy and security of information.
  8. Experience in strategic planning for information
    resources and technology.
  9. Experience with all Microsoft business related products.
  10. Ability to plan and organize multiple
    project workloads to meet tight deadlines.
  11. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  12. Must be able to work nights and weekends
    as required.

Preferred

  1. Prior work experience in higher education.
  2. Prior successful
    experience in obtaining IT grant funding.
  3. Resident of Logan or a contiguous county or willingness to relocate.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses
standard office equipment. It may be necessary from time to time to be outside for short periods in hot or cold temperatures. Work may be
required in server rooms; IT closets or utility rooms for short periods of time where temperatures can be above or below normal office
temperatures. Ability to travel to any Lincoln College site using College provided transportation.

Physical
Demands

Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use
a computer for a long period of time. Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents.
Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in handwritten forms, and printed on paper. Adequate
hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone. Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Ability to
lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds overhead.
