Job Summary:

The Group Manager builds, leads and manages the Project Management Office for the District Information
Technology (IT) team. This includes the portfolio of programs and projects management methodology, process, prioritization, and governance.
This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year
(July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of
Trustees.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Manages the
development, implementation and maintenance of project management policies, standards and procedures
* Provides project management
services to the College community
* Analyzes business needs and works with stakeholders to propose and deliver cost effective solutions

* Enhances and promotes project management methodologies in IT products and process developments
* Manages client expectations and
collaborates with the client to ensure successful project completion
* Assigns project managers and/or other resources to projects or
programs
* Ensures project requirements are collected, refined, and achieved in a high quality and timely fashion within budget
*
Monitors and reports on project progress
* Serves as a member of the senior IT leadership team to improve the overall quality of
services of the organization
* Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum
Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in IT project
management.
* Project Management Professional or other related certification
* Three (3) years of supervisory experience
* All
degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
* Familiar with national and industry standards and best practices pertaining to
project management
* Proven experience in end-to-end project management of large-scale information technology projects that involved
multiple stakeholders
* Familiar with IT operation processes including risk management, change management, and incident management
*
Knowledge of related Acts: FERPA, HIPPA, GLB
* Knowledge and understanding of college organization, goals and objectives, and policies
and procedures
* Possess strong cross group negotiation and conflict management skills; working knowledge experience with vendor and
contract negotiation
* Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals
and constituencies in a diverse community
* Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and
staff
