Assistant Directors have responsibility for projects, functions or processes within a department. These positions may recommend
strategy and provide professional support to Directors and may have the authority to act on the Director’s behalf. Assistant Directors
typically supervise other staff but do not generally control the allocation of fiscal or human resources.

Examples of Work:
The Assistant Director of I nformation Technology (Asst. Dir of IT) is a full-time, University Staff
(non-classified) professional position in the College of Nursing (CON) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus that requires
managerial experience, project management skills, and advanced technical knowledge of a multiple technologies and technological
The primary focus of the position is to oversee the IT department of the College. The department provides desktop
management support, server administration; maintain the stability of overall departmental network, computers, software, and related
components. Responsibilities of the department include faculty and staff desktop support, user training, software and hardware upgrades and
maintenance, disaster recovery, and data security.
This position is responsible for developing College IT and data related
governance, policy, and procedures. They also serve as the liaison between the College and Office of Information Technology. As required
they represent the College on campus-based IT governance committees.
This position provides guidance and project management in the
various mission areas of the College. The Assistant Director exercises discretion, independent judgment, and strategic recommendations to
ensure the efficient ongoing IT operations related to connecting data and processes to technology and the College’s mission areas. This
position will serve as a hub of information for project management, spanning over multiple areas of the College. The Assistant Director
will build relationships with functional units within the College of Nursing to provide operational leadership and project management on a
myriad of initiatives related to technological process evaluation, and process improvement.
This position will operate within the
scope of operational effectiveness and process improvement related to the College’s Mission Areas and Information Technology. This position
will collaborate with the various Assistant & Associate Dean’s and Directors throughout the College of Nursing.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range (or hiring
range) for this position has been established at $82,827 to $105,356.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be
set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible
compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
