The Department of Radiation Oncology has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) IT Program
Director position.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the day to day management of the Department of Radiation
Oncology’s IT operations. Coordinates with multiple departments and organizations across the front range of Colorado to effectively
implement, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software that supports the clinical, education and research functions of the Department of
Radiation Oncology. This includes locations at on the Anschutz Medical Campus, Highlands Range Medical Center, Cherry Creek Medical Center,
Longs Peak Medical Center, and the UCH Gamma Knife Center with additional support and guidance to UCHealth Memorial Hospital and UCHealth
Poudre Valley Hospital.

Supervision Received:

The successful candidate will be supervised by the Director of the
Medical Physics Division and will report to the Director of the Medical Physics Division and Radiation Oncology Director of Finance and
Administration.

Supervision Exercised:

All IT professionals hired within the Department of Radiation Oncology and
the Division of Medical Physics.

Specific Duty Examples:

  • Lead the Radiation Oncology IT strategic planning
    initiatives.
  • Participate in the selection of new software.
  • Advocate for the IT capital (Budget) and infrastructure
    needs of radiation oncology to the multi-campuses and administrative authorities.
  • System administration, support and
    maintenance of radiation oncology treatment planning software systems and workstations in coordination with UCHealth IT teams and vendor IT
    teams.
  • System administration, support and maintenance of radiation oncology record-and-verify software systems and networks.
  • Desktop, laptop, and mobile device support for all radiation oncology staff, including physicians, physicists, medical
    residents, physics residents, research labs, and support staff at multiple locations across the Front Range.
  • Support and
    maintenance of research labs including the animal irradiator core, vivarium, computers attached to medical devices, microscopes, imaging
    devices, software, on-prem storage servers.
  • Schedule and coordinate with vendors on the installation of new software versions
    and hardware.
  • Responsible for installation new software versions and/or performing system upgrades, including coordinating with
    vendors on vendor-installed software and hardware.
  • Responsible for ensuring the software and hardware systems as well as the
    network connectivity are operating normally to support clinical operations.
  • Responsible for coordination of archiving and
    retrieval of patient data within UCHealth systems and servers.
  • First line response to IT related issues impacting patient care
    and/or clinical workflow.
  • Responsible for in-person and remote IT support for staff that work from home or work at other
    locations.
  • Work with radiation oncology faculty and staff to develop programs and systems aimed at improving clinical
    efficiency and quality of care.
  • Maintain a database of all the software and hardware systems in radiation oncology, including
    service contracts.
  • Initiate service calls to vendors and following on the completion of service for vendors specific software
    and hardware.
  • Develop working knowledge of software and hardware used in clinical operations, including treatment planning
    software, record-and-verify software, and delivery software/hardware for radiation therapy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. in computer science or related field.

    • Substitution: A combination of education and related experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an IT professional role.

Applicants must meet minimum
qualifications at the time of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The ideal candidate will have extensive
knowledge of computer hardware and software systems including Windows, Windows Server, Macintosh, Linux, iOS, Android, Office365, Active
Directory management and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. The candidate should have a working knowledge of DICOM systems,
networking, server and desktop support, and database management. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn new material are
required. Experience and/or background supporting IT and/or hardware/software systems in a medical imaging and/or radiation oncology
environment is preferred. Mathematical and programming skills and Crystal Report to include SQL are also desirable.

Salary and
Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $92,740 to $117,966.

The
salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity,
experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good
faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
