Manager position.

Nature of Work:

Jobs in this career family perform technology management for efforts that develop,
maintain, and support computer systems, software and networks. IT functions include enterprise operations, distributed computing, academic
computing, research computing, computer hardware and software management, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development,
database administration, server administration, website management, programming, desktop support, and help desk operations.

Program Managers are responsible for the day-to-day technology operations of projects, functions or work units, including the development
and implementation of processes consistent with college, school or departmental strategies and processes.

Position Emphasis:

This position will be responsible for resource planning, leading technology teams, technology planning, time management,
and budgeting, ensuring delivery of quality solutions that meet established customer expectations, managing issues and risks, monitoring
progress, and reporting status. The core function for this role will be to manage the rollout and continued support for Elentra, the School
of Medicine Learning Content Management System. Coordination with curriculum teams and the software vendor is a critical function for this
role, while ensuring the legacy systems are still meeting the needs of the business through the transition. Data integration is critical to
the success of the Learning Content Management System, so collaboration and scoping of requirements and deliverables will be essential.
This position must work closely with sponsors and key stakeholders to help scope technology efforts, set expectations, manage issues, and
establish deliverables that fit into an iterative project management methodology. This role will required in depth technical knowledge of
delivering and managing software solutions.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Evaluating stakeholder’s needs
    and selecting the right technical solution
  • Developing troubleshooting strategies to help reduce downtime and decrease
    maintenance costs
  • Creating strategies for upgrading software solutions whenever a new update is available
  • Leading
    large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services such as Elentra, the Learning Content Management
    System for the School of Medicine
  • Analyzing business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization
    to develop solutions for IT needs
  • Assessing vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software

  • Interacting directly with vendors to ensure the highest level of quality for solution running in the School of Medicine.

  • Planning and implementing software solutions.
  • Defining project scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Developing project
    timelines and cost estimates.
  • Managing budgets.
  • Writing project proposals that contain a clear scope of work with
    identified deliverables.
  • Assigning tasks to project team members.
  • Establishing and managing project teams.
  • Establishing and executing effective project communication strategies.
  • Identifying issues and risks, and tracking them
    until resolution.
  • Implementing and managing change when necessary to meet project outputs.
  • Conducting periodic
    sponsor, stakeholder and project meetings to communicate progress and risks, obtaining feedback and addressing project concerns.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for all matters internal and external on assigned projects.
  • Conducting all
    financial reconciliation throughout projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited
    college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Project Management or a closely related
  • Extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience, including direct responsibility for resource planning and
    leading technology teams
  • 3 years as a technology manager, IT project manager, or related management experience.

: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s
degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.

Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at
the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of IT management experience

  • Experience as a project manager or project coordinator on web application development projects
  • Experience working with Learning
    Content Management Systems in an academic environment
  • Experience working in a higher education environment
  • E
    xperience with university based research projects
  • Experience working with Microsoft development projects and platforms
    (Microsoft Servers, ASP.NET, C#, IIS, SQL Server, etc.)
  • Supervisory experience with a focus on career development and
  • Experience with financial analysis, budget analysis and management concepts

  • Strong
    working knowledge of Information Technology
  • Proven ability to lead projects and work with all levels of technical, government,
    and health care leadership
  • The ability to give presentations and demonstrations to non-technical clients as well as lead
    technical teams
  • Must be able to effectively lead a project team and foster team cooperation
  • Ability to work with a
    high degree of independence and latitude
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing time
    and prioritizing tasks

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has
been established at $70,178 to $89,265.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of
factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range
(or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time
of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
