Job Description

The VirginiaMaryland College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for an IT Support Center Analyst. The tasks include a range of activities from working on multiple, complex projects independently to functioning at a high level of technical variation and difficulty. Serves as a consultant and provides technical advice to other technicians, staff and faculty. Provides consultation and advice on major implementations, ensuring services are not compromised and provides technical leadership on integration of various related systems. Provides high quality, prompt and responsive user support services, as well as providing hardware and software technical support as needed. Solves routine computer operation problems and works closely with Systems Administrator to solve more complicated problems related to supporting and enhancing college servers and networking. Provides video teleconferencing support for the College. Provides classroom and conference room audiovisual support as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of MS Windows and Macintosh operating system installation & troubleshooting. Extensive knowledge and experience supporting MS Office, email applications, web browsers, Adobe applications and other common desktop software. Experience working with server and networked computing environments, TCP/IP, wireless networks and software troubleshooting. Working knowledge of mobile computing and mobile OS such as iOS and Android. Knowledge of desktop security best practices. Ability to effectively analyze, research and solve technical problems; work in a team environment as well as independently, and interact effectively with faculty, staff, students and vendors. Ability to provide clear and concise written and oral communication. The ability to make decisions within the scope of responsibility or escalate problems as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience with video teleconferencing and audiovisual equipment. Experience providing documentation and training to end users. Experience with university policies, procedures, and systems.
