About This Role:
Kansas State University Libraries seek a creative and committed individual for the position of IT Support
Specialist II. Reporting to the IT Coordinator, the successful candidate will provide technology support for K-State Libraries staff,
students, and patrons.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is the supervision
of the help desk first tier student support staff by advising and training. Creates and maintains documentation and training of processes
and procedures for the LIST knowledgebase for internal support and end-users. The individual will apply proven communication, analytical and
problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of information technology use in the library. - Ensures the proper
configuration and functioning of workstations, conference rooms, classroom, and end-user equipment: installing, maintaining, and managing
software and hardware for faculty, staff, students, and specialized users. - Manages accounts, network rights, and access to
systems and equipment. - Responsible for physical inventory. Update and maintain inventory records using predetermined methods.
Recommend purchases for the good of the library based on support requests. - Other duties as assigned to include but not limited
to serving on Library and University Committees, attending conferences or taking courses to stay current and maintain technical
knowledge.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High
school diploma - Two years of IT support experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with current hardware and software
- Ability to work with colleagues in collaborative and team environments as
well as independently - Evidence of problem-solving skills
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
- Library experience
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with both Windows and MacOS
- Experience creating
operating system images - Experience managing Group Policy
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information
Technology, Computer Information Systems or related field
