The Manager of Networking Services is responsible for providing management and support over the computer networks administered by New
Mexico Tech. This position also oversees the maintenance and support the network and associated software. Supervision of networking staff is
also a key job responsibility.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science,
Information Technology or related field plus 3 years applicable experience. (Eight years of applicable experience can be substituted for the
Bachelor’s degree requirement). As well as:
- High level of knowledge of networking concepts and operations
required. - Knowledge of Internet Routing required. Knowledge of network tools (Firewalls, Routers, etc.) required.
- Knowledge
of network architectures required. Knowledge of Networking Software (DNS, DHCP, LDAP etc.) required. - Ability to manage technical
staff and achieve goals required. - Ability to work with peers at sister institutions and networking organizations
required.
Must be a US Citizen as some servers contain ITAR/EAR/ etc. controlled information.
Ability to pass a
background check and obtain a CJIS certification.
Desired Qualifications:
- Networking and security
certifications desired. - Knowledge of server operating systems desired.
- Knowledge of network applications
desired.

Location Information New Mexico Tech is
a small, diverse town with a population of about 8,400. It is located at the approximate center of the state of New Mexico. Socorro has a
pleasant year-round climate with summer high temperatures in the mid 90’s and winter high temperatures in the mid 50s. It has low average

live in Albuquerque or a city midway between and take one of the daily vans to and from town. Some choose to live in one of the small farm
communities surrounding Socorro.

Retirement: A defined contribution plan managed by the State of New Mexico s Educational Retirement Board provides a
