The Manager/Distributed IT Operations, Healthcare IT will serve as the lead resource responsible for the implementation and maintenance of distributed systems and services that enable the academic endeavors of the College of Medicine and College of Health Professions. This position will provide oversight and consultation for the academic and research functions of the organization and will act as a management lead on identified projects and initiatives. This position is based out of the CMU College of Medicine Saginaw campus, but will be expected to visit the Mount Pleasant and distributed campuses as needed.

Required qualifications include

Bachelor’s degree; five years of experience in Information Technology field; understanding of core technical disciplines including: Edge-device management, networking, applications delivery, systems administration, and cloud computing; experience with Apple and Microsoft operating systems, including management utilities; experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 service offerings; current knowledge of industry software and hardware technologies; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write documentation and training materials; ability to work independently; self-managing; excels in a rapidly changing environment; demonstrated positive interpersonal skills; ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree; Proven experience supporting clinical/healthcare technologies; proven experience supporting academic systems and software; previous higher education experience; experience with the installation, activation, and on-going support of electronic health record systems; experience with Web, VoIP, and Telepresence conferencing technologies; prior success assisting faculty and students with the development of academic technologies or research projects; experience of developing relationships with external agencies and organizations an in-depth understanding of CMU and OIT policies relating to Computer use – e.g. Information Governance, Acceptable Use Policy, Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information, HIPAA, FERPA, etc.
