The National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF), which works with automakers and the independent service sector to ensure access to OE repair information and tools, is warning members of recent ‘phishing scams.”
Phishing scams use e-mails masquerading as legitimate communications of organizations to capture login credentials and passwords of individuals.
Often these involved banking details, but not always.
“NASTF will never ask you for your credentials or to verify your account login via email,” states the organization.
“You can always look to see who the sender of the email is to verify it’s an actual NASTF.org email account. If you ever have questions in regards to an email received, you can verify with the NASTF support center. “
NASTF even shared several examples of the recent phishing scams.
