Marketing Specialist – Semantic Scholar\n\nWho You Are:\n\nWe are looking for a Growth Marketer to drive acquisition and retention efforts to help us grow Semantic Scholar. You will own all aspects of user growth and retention for our over 8 million monthly active users. This position is ideal for a data-driven and hands-on marketer, who is excited by the idea of scaling a product, and growing a customer base through strategic ownership and data-driven optimizations.\n\nSemantic Scholar is a free, A.I.-powered research tool for scientific literature. We have grown from a groundbreaking research project at the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence to a tool millions of scholars use every week. Our mission is to empower scholars with easy access to the most relevant information from the world’s scientific literature. Since our launch in November 2015, we have indexed more than 200 million research papers and built a user base of millions of scholars in over 100 countries. Our work has been featured in the New York Times, Wired, Nature, Science, and many other publications. \n\nYou will work within a high energy, fast-paced team that includes prominent A.I. research scientists, world-class engineers, and product management functions. You are data-driven, and can prioritize tests and iterate on campaigns to improve their impact. You are also results-oriented, and are able to use your judgment to make decisions in the absence of data. We do!\n\n\n\n\nYour Next Challenge:\n\n\nManage Semantic Scholar’s growth initiatives end-to-end, including on-site marketing, email, SEM, SEO, and social. \n\nDevelop your own roadmap and own execution for a portfolio of growth campaigns to support Semantic Scholar strategy and annual goals.\n\nPlan, execute, and iterate on experiments that increase new user activation, drive product usage, and improve user retention and expansion.\n\nOwn planning, budget, and execution of digital campaigns to find and test new channels and markets\n\nManage all social media platforms, including owning content creation, real-time social media monitoring and responses, coordinate social media responses with customer support.\n\nBuild and manage landing pages and email campaigns. Work with our UX design team to develop, produce, and launch marketing collateral in support of product launches.\n\nResearch, implement, and manage tools to aid in growth (marketing automation, analytics, conversion optimization, etc.)\n\n\n\n\nWhat You’ll Need:\n\nQualifications:\n\n\n0-2 years of experience in growth, acquisition, or digital marketing for a high-growth consumer internet or eCommerce company or equivalent non-profit experience.\n\nHands-on experience running and optimizing digital marketing channels that reach millions of users across channels such as on-site marketing, SEM, and/or social.\n\nExperience managing email programs at scale and other outbound communications for a consumer-facing product.\n\nWorking knowledge of designing and executing marketing campaigns, including content creation, campaign management, marketing automation, and programmatic retargeting.\n\nSelf-starter with a growth mindset and demonstrated ability to drive initiatives with minimal supervision. Proactive in taking the initiative to test new ideas and campaigns.\n\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, non-hierarchical environment and wear multiple hats.\n\nEntrepreneurially spirited and intellectually curious; strong work ethic and customer-driven mindset\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\nUnderstanding of marketing tools, such as Webflow, AppCues, Hubspot, Contentful, or Heap is a plus.\n\nFluency with multiple SEM, SEO, analytics, and digital marketing platforms.\n\nComfortable developing marketing strategies using both quantitative and qualitative insights.\n\n\n\n\nAI2 is proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer.
