Job Summary
Technology support focused on faculty and research needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- High performance computing, analytical programming, hardware, and software support for faculty to support research projects.
- User account and security management to meet externally funded grant and contract requirements.
- Provide descriptions of technology resources for grant and contract proposals based on project needs and grant guidelines.
- Document, manage, and maintain lifecycle of research and faculty environments.
- Systems administration duties, including but not limited to virtualization, storage, installs, updates, and upgrades for both Windows and Linux environments.
- Customer service ticket and phone support specific to faculty/research needs, and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. At least 4 years of experience in information technology. Plus, at least one year of experience working with high performance computing. Plus, at least one year of experience with systems administration duties.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Build and manage virtual servers. Rack and cable physical servers. Issue and install SSL certificates. Install software and maintain licenses.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience
writing and running parallel code on varied node types within HPC cluster.
Familiarity
with CMMC, NIST 800-171, and other federal government security requirements.
