Supervisor, Monroe Technology Support

This position is located at the Monroe Campus in Tannersville, PA.

Primary Function:  The primary purpose of this position is to provide front-line technology support for the Monroe campus, including desktop, network, AV and support center services. The position also provides support for college-wide projects, including events, AV and web conferencing, and instructional and administrative technologies. Responsible for supervising Monroe technology support staff.  

Responsibilities:  (1) Provides primary technology and user support services for the Monroe campus.  (2) Schedules and supervises Monroe campus helpdesk support staff as assigned.  (3) Works with Desktop and Network staff to develop, coordinate, and install desktop, printer, and AV equipment, including desktop image development, management, and testing. (4) Provides technology support and input for events at Monroe campus. (5) Ensures Monroe technology work orders are tracked, assigned, and addressed in a timely manner.  (6) Works with Bethlehem Information Technology Services (ITS) managers to ensure Monroe AV and desktop equipment is coordinated, monitored, tracked, and replaced on a routine basis. (7) Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Organizational Relationships:  (1) Responsible to the Director, Network and Technology Operations for performance of assigned responsibilities. (2) Relates role to the College and department goals and mission.

Performance Standards:  Performance in this position is considered to be satisfactory when:  (1) mutually agreed upon objectives have been obtained within a specified time frame, (2) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives, (3) effective and cooperative relationships exist with the other members of the, information technology services staff, as well as other members of the administrative team,  faculty and other members of the College community. (4) leadership competencies are exhibited in a manner consistent with institutional norms such that positive team/employee relations are fostered and employee developmental needs are proactively addressed. 

Qualifications:  (1) Education/Work Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Instructional Technology and 2 years experience; or Associates degree and 3 years experience; or relevant, related substantial experience (2)  Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:  (a) Knowledge and experience with audiovisual, videoconferencing, and instructional technology systems (b)  Experience with instructional technology systems and services in higher education environment;  (c) Supervisory experience; (d) Experience with developing, testing, deploying and testing desktop images (e) Excellent customer service and communication skills (f) Experience with implementing and troubleshooting network and print management systems
