Reporting directly to the Executive Director of IT, the Technical Services Manager’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following*:

  • Manage operations and projects to proactively maintain the network infrastructure, device configurations, and the physical, virtual, and wireless connections.
  • Provide hands-on analysis, design, troubleshooting, installation, implementation, tuning, and administration of the local-area wired, wireless and wide-area networks and all associated equipment.
  • Participate in fiber and copper plant implementation and maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, working with external contractors as appropriate, while ensuring efficient, reliable and orderly cabling infrastructure.
  • Maintain expertise in state-of-the-art IT hardware, camera, infrastructure, services, and techniques.
  • Work with the Executive Director to develop, document, maintain, and test Disaster Recovery and Security Plans.
  • Ensure minimal disruption of delivery of services and minimal risk of data breaches by identifying operational risks, implementing industry best practices, and meeting or exceeding security and compliance guidelines.
  • Consistent workplace attendance on campus (limited work from home capability).
  • Supervise Systems Administrator.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 years of prior hands-on experience and training in the support and management of a network administration and system administration environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of activity
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Proficient knowledge, skills, and abilities in Active Directory; Office365; File and Print Services; DNS/DHCP; Scripting; Network Security and Infrastructure Technologies; Data Center Facility Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse community
  • Access to transportation and a PC with Internet connectivity during off-hours
  • Be on-call and work outside of regular hours as needed
  • Occasional lifting, bending, stooping, crawling, reaching, and transporting of computing equipment
