Director of Information Technology

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: The Director of Information
Technology is responsible for the overall operation, management, development, and administration of University technology resources and IT
staff for all University locations and interests. The Director is responsible for IT goal and policy development, preparation and monitoring
of the IT budget, technology contract evaluation, and maintain the University Technology Plan.

 DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To promote the mission and support institutional objectives of Hodges University.

2.
To adhere to all FERPA requirements to include maintenance of all department documents, discussions, and records. 

3. To provide
the highest level of professionalism and customer service to all constituents.

4. To educate and support users in the appropriate,
effective, and efficient use of University Technology.

5. To develop, implement and assess IT department objectives as well as
integrating departmental outcomes and mission.

6. To assist colleagues and the University with technology infrastructure in times of
crisis.

7. To ensure that data integrity, network security, and application security are enforced in order to ensure the privacy of
University and constituent information while adhering to local, state, and federal guidelines

8. To develop cost-effective
relationships with University vendors and various software support organizations.

9. To provide, leadership, motivation, and support
for the IT staff.

10. To oversee effective and timely completion of technology projects and objectives.

11. To monitor and
enforce regular maintenance, upgrades, and updates of IT-managed technology resources.

12. To ensure that departmental programming,
customer service, and documentation standards are strictly adhered to.

13. To oversee the planning, budgeting, and purchasing while
ensuring that future technology purchases meet the common goals of all departments and support the mission of the University.

14. To
monitor vendor contacts and software licenses to enforce adherence to current agreements.

15. To monitor current budget compliance
and to prepare a proposed budget each year for the following year.

16. To maintain the infrastructure for access resources including
the University Web Site, Learning Management Systems, and Intranet

17. To assist the Assistant Vice President of Finance &
Administration with the strategic planning for the development and acquisition of emerging technologies for the University

18. To
oversee the planning of information support services to support the present locations and all future plans for new sites

19. To
establish and maintain a University Technology Unit Plan that supports the University Strategic Plan and meets the needs of all University
constituents.

20. To plan for future technology growth and enhancements.

21. To design infrastructure and implement procedures
and redundancy, failover and recovery of critical systems

22. To perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President of
Finance & Administration

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and IT experience. A
master’s degree is preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to effectively and efficiently supervise personnel (with a focus on staff
training and development) and to interact effectively with outside vendors for the institution’s benefit.
