Description

This position is responsible for providing IT strategy, data and physical security; and leadership across the enterprise delivering oversite and direction to IT and business leaders. This position is responsible for building productive relationships with business units, IT operations and for technology and digital transformation across the college business units.  Supervises a team of IT Managers and their respective staff.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

1.        Create a clear and executable strategic vision and roadmap for information technology that supports business objectives and lead the IT team and its business partners in effective execution.
2.        Determine the priority of security needs and develop budget according to an organization’s financial constraints and directives; and assist as a key contributor to the college’s business and digital strategies.
3.        Review, recommend, and oversee all vendors and managed service agreements for computing, telecommunications, IT services, and equipment.
4.        Work with local, state and federal law enforcement and other security agencies to develop physical and data security strategies. Lead execution of those strategies.
5.        Make executive decisions regarding managing operation and capital budgets, purchase of IT equipment from suppliers and creation of new systems.
6.        Collaboratively work with diverse leaders, communicate an IT vision and strategy across all levels of the organization, and build consensus around key initiatives and projects that demonstrates driving digital business transformation through innovation and the implementation of technology.
7.        Develop and execute an analytics program that will allow company business leaders to make data-based decisions.
8.        Ensure that current and planned technical architecture, investments and solutions are aligned with company business objectives.
9.        Establish and enforce IT policies, processes, project portfolio management, development standards and methodologies.
10.        Identify information technology data protection goals and objectives that are consistent with WCTC’s strategic plans.
11.        Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.  Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  •         Excellent skills in computing, software development and software design
  •         Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  •         Proficient in project management and project planning
  •         Problem solving skills
  •         Knowledge of infrastructure methodology and technology
  •         Knowledge of executing digital transformation
  •         Knowledge of integrating cloud computing into a private network
  •         Excellent supervisory skills
  •         Ability to work across different business units to find technology solutions
  •         Ability to communicate technology vision and strategy to the College’s business units and President’s Executive Council

Minimum Qualifications

  •         Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field; Advanced degree (MBA) in a related field is preferred
  •         Eight years of technology experience; five years of experience in a leadership role; two years of project management experience and three years of budget management experience

Supplemental Information

The Chief Information Officer/Chief Security Officer supports the IT Service department and is available on or before June 1, 2022.

This position is full time and will be based on-site at the Pewaukee campus.  Hours are generally  Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
