Title: IT Project Manager

Position
Summary:

The IT Project Manager is a key team member supporting the academic innovation and student success efforts at Saint
Louis Community College through district wide IT projects. The goal is to deliver an education that serves more students with better
outcomes, while containing costs through curricular innovation, community engagement and effective use of technology.

The IT Project
Manager will coach project team members in best practice project management techniques and communication strategies. Maintains critical
documentation in support of assigned projects, including project plans and objectives, risk and mitigation strategies, and project status.
May develop financial models to assess value of projects. Serves as liaison between stakeholders in order to further continuous
consideration and initiation of district IT and improvement projects.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage multiple
    projects within the established scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Follow established project processes established by the College’s
    Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Define the objective, requirements, and assumptions necessary to structure a project.

  • Develop Project Plans and Schedules that represent the appropriate level of detail and task interdependency.
  • Ability to help
    facilitate project success by balancing project objectives, capacity building of project leads and teams, and Saint Louis Community
    College’s mission.
  • Facilitate and lead effective meetings.
  • Manage change and/or conflict within any project in an
    effective, timely, and appropriate manner.
  • Develop accurate resource planning estimates to effectively manage personal workload
    and maximize individual productivity and revenue generation.
  • Lead (coordinate, facilitate, and motivate) the efforts of the
    individual, team, client, and other resources associated with project activity.
  • Ability to plan and implement organization-wide
    activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, developing policies and procedures for implementation, and organizing the functions
    necessary to accomplish the activities).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project management/scheduling and task management
    software.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects at one time.
  • Must have sound judgment, anticipatory skills,
    confidentiality, negotiation, problem solving, and customer service skills.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

The necessary skills and abilities would ordinarily be acquired through
completion of a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 or more years of experience demonstrating increasing responsibilities for managing multiple
projects on time.

A professional credential such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional
(PMP) or similar certification such as Lean or Six Sigma, is preferred.

3 or more years of experience with IT infrastructure projects
is preferred.

Higher education experience and a proven track record of successful process improvement project outcomes are also
preferred.
