Detailed Job Description
Under general direction of department leadership, responsible for leading all aspects of IT project delivery, including directing cross-functional teams. Manage multiple simple to moderately complex IT projects. Develop project plans, set milestones, request and manage resources, monitor and report on project progress. Build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in assigned projects. Ensure projects meet project objectives as well as compliance and security requirements. Consulting with IT management, perform risk management to identify, document and minimize project risks. Anticipate and resolve project issues and problems.

Information and Technology Services (ITS) is committed to serving the university’s information technology needs. We provide central IT services to a smart and vibrant student body of 19,000 as well as to our faculty and staff. ITS is responsible for the development, maintenance, project management and support for centralized administrative applications, enterprise services, technology infrastructure, information security and client computing, as well as support and advice for a wide variety of other information technology needs.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education
Bachelors degree in a related field preferred. Masters degree in a related field desirable. Significant additional related experience will be considered in lieu of degree or type of degree

Experience
Bachelor degree or technical training equivalent and 3 – 5 years experience

SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience meeting project budgets
  • Working knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques and tools
  • Ability to present to IT management and project stakeholders
  • Experienced with RFI / RFP creation and assessment
  • Experience leading and directing work of others
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to contribute effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to plan, develop and oversee execution of short and long range tasks
  • Good group facilitation, mediation and conflict resolution skills
  • Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Good risk management skills

Preferred:
Experience within higher education preferred
